Lateral Projects recently completed the design and refurbishment of the historic 145 Macquarie Street building. Our designers and building team were able to marry the existing heritage finishes of the building with contemporary office design. The work was completed level by level with the building being fully tenanted during construction.
The project involved two stages of work, heritage and refurbishment/fitout. The aim of the heritage work was to bring the building up to a finished standard that could then be maintained by the college on a monthly, quarterly or yearly basis. Work involved refurbishing the sandstone façade, repairing internal lime mortar and the 1858 stairs.
The general refurbishment work included complete recarpeting and painting of the building and installing new workstations and utility areas to increase the usable areas of the building.
